The process of creating the painting “Miss M”
My aunt, Mahvash, did not get married due to Parkinson’s disease and needed care. She was with us in the same house for the last years of her life, and I saw her muscles gradually weaken and her abilities diminish. This became a great sadness for me. I witnessed one of the most dear people in my life getting closer to death moment by moment. This domination of death over her intensified when one of her sisters (my other aunt) passed away. The deaths of both my aunts were five months apart. This painting was created exactly in the last three days of her life, and after the painting was finished, she left here forever.
